Good afternoon Parents/Guardians,
Curriculum Night provides parents/guardians with the opportunity to meet their child’s classroom teacher and learn about their child’s academic school year. This year, Curriculum Night will be held on Tuesday, September 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. virtually, via Google Meet. There are two formats for these sessions:
- Each classroom teacher will provide two sessions at 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m through your child’s K12 account. The format will be a presentation (approximately 10-15 minutes), followed by a brief question and answer period (approximately 5-10 minutes). The format will be exactly the same for both sessions. Google Meet links will be posted in your child’s Google Classroom as we approach the date.
- For our itinerant teachers (French, Physical Education, Music) and Core Resource, teachers will be offering drop-in sessions. Please check each itinerant/core resource teacher’s individual Google Classroom (through your child’s K12 account) for a more detailed breakdown of the times.
A gentle reminder that the intent of Curriculum Night is to provide a general overview of the class (i.e. curriculum, classroom expectations and procedures, parent communication details, etc.) and not an opportunity to speak directly about your child’s academic progress. This will happen more formally during interviews in November after the Progress Report.
This information will also be posted on the school website at j23@ycdsb.ca.
Yours in Catholic Education,
Mr. D’Agostini & Mr. Matthews
