Important Update for Families of Remote Students

Please see below communication from the board:

Dear Families of Remote Elementary Students,

Thank you to all families for confirming your choice that your children will attend school remotely at the start of the 2021/22 school year. This choice was made by either filling out the survey back in June or contacting your school to make a change between August 25-27. There has been a significant increase in the request for remote learning from June to August, and we have been working diligently for the past week and a half to finalize our remote numbers, compose classes, and hire teachers to instruct our remote classroom environments.

The hiring process is almost complete, however, not all classes have a teacher assigned to them at the present time. We are doing everything we can to get teachers in place and expect to have all remote classes staffed with a teacher in the next few days.

If you have not been contacted by your child’s remote teacher by this evening, that means one has yet to be assigned. In the interim, to support your child’s learning, a dedicated website has been developed. This website, known as the Remote Learning Student Hub, provides elementary students from kindergarten to Grade 8 with online learning tasks. These tasks address the core subjects of Religion, Language (including French Immersion), and Mathematics, and are organized according to grade level. We encourage your child to complete the provided tasks in chronological order by starting with day one.

We apologize for any inconvenience and/or disappointment this may cause, and thank you for your patience and understanding as we complete the hiring process for our remote classes to support a high quality of virtual learning instruction.

Yours in Christ,

Dom Scuglia

Director of Education
